This course is accredited with the National Commission for Further and Higher Education of Malta (NCFHE) as MQA Level 4 and European Qualification EQF Level 4 and is suitable for beginners with no experience in the field or for those who would like to advance in their career.

OverviewReflexology uses many techniques to manipulate reflex zones found in the feet, of which correspond to a specific body part. The zones enable the Reflexologist to treat the whole body via these reflex zones on the feet.
Course Contents
  • Health, safety, hygiene and security for the complementary therapy industry.
  • Principles and practice of the complementary therapy industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology and common pathology of the human body.
  • How to prepare for and provide an effective reflexology treatment and adapt to client requirements.
  • Contra-indications and contra-actions, advice to be given to the client, record-keeping
  • Evaluation of treatments and reflection on professional practice.
  • Recognising Body Language
  • Stress, Illness and Analysis of posture
  • Legal Aspects, Code of Conduct and Ethics

Entry Requirements
  • In accordance to VTCT requirements, students will be expected to a wear professional uniform for practical sessions. 
  • Students must have full dexterity, good standard of personal presentation and the ability to work with others. 
  • Basic English literacy and Communication Skills are also required. 
  • You will need to provide models for all practical assessments. 
  • You will also be required to practice techniques outside college hours.
Learning MethodsStudents will learn through a combination of theory and practical work. Initially students will practice on class colleagues, but all assessments will be carried out on a model brought in by student.
Assessment MethodsDemonstrate competence in realistic Academy working practice, Portfolio of evidence, practical demonstration supported by written and oral questioning. Assignments, case studies. Ongoing Practical & Theory Assessments by VTCT IQAs and EQAs till June/July.
